I have kids. My twitter handle gives it away (along with the fact I’m a nurse). We like to read. A lot. One book that I just struck me all of a sudden was a good one called Marvin K. Mooney, Will You Please Go Now! By Dr. Seuss.
If you’re unfamiliar with the book, Marvin K. Mooney just needs to go. A person, (or persons) keep telling Marvin to go. Finally, he does.
Well, it appears in Mr. Sterling’s situation, he’s not leaving without a fight. Which we all knew would happen. But, it just seems as though something new is happening every day. Or at least, once or twice a week. Last week, he was set to sell and had a deal with former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for $2 billion and was going to drop his $1 billion lawsuit against the NBA. Whew, we all thought. We can move on from this whole wacky drawn out thing…..But this old man, he played ten, he said this deal’s off again, with a nick-nack-paddy-wack, this guy’s got some stones. Mr. Sterling needs a nursing home.
But NOOO….Mr. Sterling now feels the need to “fight to protect his rights.” Again. So, he issued a statement stating that the Clippers aren’t for sale. I get it. I really do. He’s mad, he’s upset. He’s an 80. He does have his right to due process in a court of law, and not the court of public opinion. I do realize that what he did was horribly wrong and offensive, and yes he has to go, but I also do believe that things DO have to be done correctly as well. What’s the point of doing all this, if there is that ONE little loophole that ruins the whole thing.
But for gosh sakes Mr. Sterling, can you please just make up your mind? Fight it, or don’t fight it. That is probably harder for someone who is dealing possibly with Alzheimer’s or dementia, but still. Do us all (or just me) a favor. The time has come. The time has come. The time is now. Just go. Go. GO! I don’t care how. Just go, go, GO! Please do, do, DO!! Donald T. Sterling, I don’t care how. Donald T. Sterling, will you please GO NOW!! NOW!!!!
